This week has been hard, painful, awesome and pure joy! It's just incredible how things can change from day to day in both directions.
I have made huge progress when in respect to my swim form. High elbow, good kick and nice body position have enabled me to decrease my 50 meter time from around a minute somewhere in between 45-50 seconds. I haven't swam a long distance last week since I was doing some swim drills that will help me in the long run. I was taking more breaks because of them but in general I am pleased with the progress. I'll include these now every two weeks just to throw myself out of my comfort zone.
My running is improving also a lot! I am finally able to keep a high cadence of around 180+ with a relatively low pulse which improved my times on 1 km from something around 5 minutes to 4.40-4.50 and even 4.30 at times which is just awesome.
Unfortunately my legs weren't really up to par last week as I felt constant pain in my left foot (knee and calf) but that's all not really dramatic. I just had to lower the intensity a little bit and make it till the end.
I also did a nice bike ride of around 52 km from my house to Jastrebarsko in little less then 2 hours. I really like this road because it has some smaller hills along the way which make you push harder if you want to get to the top with a decent speed (and zipping down with almost 50 km/h is also nice :))
All in all it was a mix of everything you can experience if you are practicing long distance sports but that's what I signed up for. I have signed up for the 2015 IronMan in Nice, France and am currently the only guy from Croatia (you can check it out here)!
