It's easy to be a hypocrite

This will be a radically different post than what I usually serve to you but after watching this video I just can't move on and not comment on it. I apologize to anyone who may be offended by my statement but the stuff that follows is just my take on one aspect of our lives.

I hope you have watched the video already so it will be easier to understand what I am talking about. Right of the bat I want to say that I agree with most of the things in the video. I absolutely hate every single person who treats animals like the people in the video. I hope they all die a slow and painful death somewhere alone in a dirty basement or under a bridge. But on the other hand I want to believe that these cases are just exceptions to the rule and that there are many more food producers of any kind which treat animals as human as possible.

But let's now look on some other things not really related to food but to suffering of PEOPLE. How often do you check where your clothes come from. Have you ever researched the manufacturer of your jeans or coat? I guess you didn't know that many of the things you wear on yourself come from India or south east Asia where child labor is still very common and has grown into a $10,000,000,000 industry.

How many of you wear makeup that is tested on animals? How many of you take medication that was tested on animals which are first made sick in order to be cured if they are lucky and not killed in the process?

Have you ever thought about where your phone, TV or computer comes from? I guess you didn't know under what conditions people make these products. Some say it even equals forced labor. But why should we even think about that? It's just so easy, so normal, to post a new picture to Instagram, check the latest news on your laptop or tablet or watch a good movie on your TV. All of these things are made in part by people who will NEVER in their life be able to buy any of this.

Children are usually suffering the most because they have no alternative. It's either work and help your family or starve. And many industries are taking advantage of that. What have you done to stop this? Started eating lettuce? Drink only coconut milk? Great job! That will help them all for sure!

When was the last time you went to work on foot or a bicycle? For many people it's been a while because they just don't want the hassle and it's so much more comfortable to drive in your car then use some other eco-friendly solution.

It just pisses me off how people can only look at one thing and start pointing fingers but look away on another thing. This is like the all new "gluten free" craze that has started a while ago. Everyone wants now gluten free stuff and start flipping out if you don't have something they just need so much but still go to a pizza/pasta restaurant or eat burgers in McDonald's. If you point these things out to them they just get angry and try to lecture you.

We all have a selective memory and if that doesn't change we are all screwed. With each technological breakthrough our lives got easier, but as all things in life it comes with a price. Sometimes it's easy to see and sometimes they are well hidden somewhere far away. But the key thing you can do to prevent this things is to inform you. If you really do care about animal cruelty, child labor or other bad things you just have to get informed and start making changes in your lifestyle. Stop buying things you don't know the origin of or can't be fairly sure that it's a highly controlled environment. If everyone would do this all the bad guys would soon be out of business and the good guys could provide you with quality stuff for a lower price.

Until next time, try to make a difference.
