One month into my Ironman training and I am feeling awesome. Last week was pretty good and it was crowned with two nice trainings at the end of the week. A long 15 km run and a 52 km bike ride which included some smaller climbs that proved ideal in getting used to keeping the heart rate and speed high. All this will, I hope, get me ready for the actual terrain which is waiting for me in Nice.
This week I also practice getting of the bike and running towards the "transition area" (a.k.a running for 20 meters or so :)) and I have to admit that it's one of the strangest feelings I have ever felt.
My legs feel so heavy and unnatural when the feet finally hit the hard ground that I started laughing but after a few steps the "normal" feeling starts to get back and then it's already over as I reach my house and call it a day :)
I had to skip one run training because of really bad weather but all in all I am very pleased with how things are advancing.
This week in numbers:
Distance | Time | Pace | |
---|---|---|---|
Swim | 5 km | 1:50:00 h | 22 min / km |
Bike | 86.06 km | 3:31:58 h | 2.27 min / km |
Run | 14.98 km | 1:20:02 h | 5.20 min / km |
Overall, the numbers add up to:
Distance | Time | |
---|---|---|
Swim | 17.25 km | 6:28:00 h |
Bike | 299.39 km | 15:21:31 h |
Run | 48.24 km | 4:14:53 h |
Until next week, try to make a difference :)
