A little later then usual but still better then never :)
I had a nice behind me where I was able to squeeze a nice pace out of my bike on Wednesday. I managed to make a full loop more (5 instead of the usual 4) and bang a nice run right after it.
I swam quite well also. I am slowly but surely improving my speed which give me confidence for my first real open water swimming I expect to have in the next few weeks.
I topped of the week with a smooth bike ride on the Medvednica hill north of Zagreb and a pretty good half marathon. The bike ride was a little shorter then I expected. The goal was to climb the hill from the south side (which I managed to do 15 minutes faster then usual) but my left Achilles tendon was causing some pain so I didn't went the planed north side downhill and back up.
I was aiming for a 1:40:00 time for my half marathon and in the end it took me 1:39:50 with low effort on the last 2 km so I am pretty happy about it. I hope that in two weeks I'll be able to one-up myself when running in the Hendrix half-marathon here in Zagreb.
These are my numbers for the week:
Distance | Time | Pace | |
---|---|---|---|
Swim | 4.70 km | 1:55:00 h | 24:28 min / km |
Bike | 125.32 km | 5:43:14 h | 2:44 min / km |
Run | 40.07 km | 3:16:00 h | 4:53 min / km |
40 kilometres in 3 hours and 16 minutes is quite nice. I wouldn't complain about such a marathon time :)
The numbers now add up to:
Distance | Time | |
---|---|---|
Swim | 100.10 km | 39:22:00 h |
Bike | 1573.68 km | 70:47:17 h |
Run | 437.53 km | 36:18:13 h |
100 kilometres in the water and more then 2000 in total. I kind of like this numbers (although some get this numbers within a month or two:)
My confidence is rising by the week but I still need to take breaks from time to time. This week is a little recovery week where I get my feet of the throttle a little bit so that the next month (with more training volume added) will be a success just like the months before.
Until next week, don't forget to be awesome :)
