Mistakes were made!
This week flew by just like the previous. The first part of the week was again about speed while it later carried over into endurance work.
The one thing I really enjoyed was the Thursday swim where I absolutely destroyed my expectations while swimming 3x200@Zone3, 5x100@Zone4, and 6x50@Zone5.
The more I swam the faster I got! I was smiling with every lap I swam in the pool and I really hope to keep the momentum going for the next week as well.
My long run was also a breeze. I started out with a 5:15min/km pace and gradually climbed to a 4:50 pace for the last 15 minutes of my 1 hour and 35 minute run. I felt in control from start to finish and really enjoyed running for a longer period.
The only mistake I made this week was on the long bike. I usually have 1 bar of around 120g of carbs, a 750 ml bottle with some random non-caloric fluid (Coke zero for example) and 500ml of some energy drink (last few weeks it was Monster energy).
I could then control with ease how much I would drink as well as how much calories I would take in.
Unfortunately, my stash of Monster energy was empty but I thought to myself that it would be ok to just remove it from the equation and do my thing. My previous rides where I started pushing harder towards the end of the 3 hours had me believe I am stronger than my food intake. Big mistake!
I’ll make sure to prevent this from happening in the future.
Other than that, everything was pretty much smooth sailing. I survived Christmas and New Year relatively unharmed. I put on less the 1 kg so I am pretty happy about that. With holidays out of the way I can now focus on bringing my weight down by spring and raise my power levels even further for July.
My workload is climbing up and it should be even a little higher in week 11 after which I’ll take a week of recovery again.

All in all, I can not be happier with my progress at this point in time and I can’t wait to see how I’ll do next week.
Until then,
