Another week, another book. Nope! I somehow messed up my schedule while being on holiday so It turns out I am one book short. But I will make up for the lost time soon because I will attend a power (speed) reading course in a week
Last week I read the third and final part of the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks called Beyond the Shadows.
I was rally looking forward to this book because the second part ended with so many questions that you just had to grab the latest part. I wasn’t really disappointed but I wasn’t completely thrilled either.
Kylar who was hoping to have a nice a quite life had to drop everything and fight on Logan’s side and help him become king again. Everything didn’t turn out as planed and after a great battle the world was forming into new order. Some of the characters who were only “side players” are now kings and other are dead.
One of the biggest changes in Kylars life was that instead of getting married to Elen he was bound to Vi with the earrings that can’t be taken apart by known magic. This will prove to be a blessing and a burden at the same time.
Will Logan reclaim his throne, will he crumble when having to make crucial decisions and what will happen to all people now that the Godking is dead is something for you to find out.
It’s again a fast paced book but with a little to many stories merging into one. I get the point that it all leads to a final confrontation between good and bad but sometimes it was a bit to confusing.
I give to book only a 7/10 but think I have become a Brent Weeks fan while following Kylar on his journey.
Until next week, keep smiling
