Another John Green week. Looks like I really like authors named John :). This week it’s his book An Abundance of Katherines.
It’s a story about Colin Singleton, a child prodigy who is trying to step it up by becaming a “genious”. The difference between a prodigy and genious is explained in the book so you will have to dig a little in. His life is all about reading, anagraming and being famous (as a genious).
After the latest breakup with his girlfriend (she dumped him) Katherine he was trying to find an equation which will describe a romantic relationship between two people. He had a lot data to play with because he had a total of 19 girlfriends and they were all Katherines. After finishing the semester and the summer break in full swing his friend Hassan persuaded him to go on a road trip to get his head clear.
They ended up in a town called Gutshot which was the alleged resting place of the body of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. There they met Lindsey Lee Wells who gave them a tour to the archduke’s grave. Colin and Hassan decided to stay in Gutshot and start working for Lindsey’s mother.
How everything turnes out is again something for you to find out
The book started really nice but got a bit slow somewhere around page 100 but the end was making up for everything again. It’s probably not my favorite John Green book but at the end I like the transformation Colin went through so I will give this book an 8/10 and move on to my next book
Until then don’t forget to be awesome
