Because of the delay with the last book I had to pick something shorter this time to make up some time. And fortunatly I picked John Green’s Looking for Alaska!
It’s a story about Miles Halter, a young boy who hasn’t got many friends, who doesn’t know how to make friends and who really seems to get along with this situation well. He attended Culver Creek Preparatory High School in Alabama to get ready for his junior year.
After ariving there he met Chip “The Colonel” Martin. Who quickly became his friends, I just don’t know if Miles wanted it in the begginig. He also got introduced to Takumi and the other centerpiece of the story, Alaska.
He instantly fell in love with her and the four of them, together with Lara, his one day girlfriend from Romaina, formed a group that spend most of the time together smoking, drinking and pranking the other students (mostly the so called Weekday Warriors). Their stories and life before meeting as well as their life together is something for you to find out again.
I like the book and one of the reasons was the way it was organized. You didn’t have “Chapter 1,2,3..” but something like “One hundrad and four days before” which kept you turning pages just to get to the day where many things should change. And the things changed a lot! I could really get into the heads of this guys and think of what I would do in this kind of situations. I have also laughed a lot to the things the guys were doing so all in all there isn’t much I can give here but a 10/10 and I am already on another book by John but more on this next week.
Until then, don’t forget to be awesome
