Another week another book! I went back to John Grisham by reading The Brethren and it was quite nice
It’s a story about three former judges who are spending their time in Trumble, a minimum security prison in Florida. To boost their income while in prison (earning 20-30 cents per hour for different jobs seems unfair) they developed a scam. They were publishing adverts in gay magazines where a young guy is looking for some company. After filtering the replies and doing some little research on the people who wrote letters and after a series of letters going back and forth they picked their victims. Threatening them that they will tell their wife, parents, boss etc. that they are having a gay affair they demanded money.
Everything was going pretty fine until one day they hooked a really big fish. After that they got all kinds of agents and even the head of the CIA on their back which wasn’t really nice but they tried to make the most of it.
Who the big fish was and how everything ended is something you will, again, have to find out for yourself.
I give this book a 8/10 because it was a nice read with a lot of funny moments but it wasn’t something that would keep me up all night (yes that can happen too )
Until next week, try to make a difference
