Book challenge, week 20

The third decade started with a really nice book. John Green’s The Fault in our Stars is a book you can read over and over again and find something nice in it

We follow Hazel Grace Lancaster who attended a support group for children who have cancer. She didn’t want to go there but it turned out to be a life changing event. She met a boy there, Augustus “Gus” Waters, who lost a leg to cancer.

They started spending time together and deepening their relationship which turned into love eventually. After being forced to read An Imperial Affliction, Hazel’s favorite book, he also became obsessed with it just as she is. They were trying to contact the author Peter Van Houten to reveal them the end of the, unfinished, story with no luck.

The only solution was to travel to Amsterdam and talk to the author in person which was made possible by The Genies. They grant one wish to every kids with life-threatening medical conditions. Hazel used her already so that Gus had to use his wish to get them there.

The trip was a bitter sweet experience which didn’t bring all the answers they hoped for but brought them a lot of joy anyway.

How everything unfolds is something you will learn after you go through the 300+ pages of this awesome book.

I give this book a 10/10 (surprise, surprise) and am looking forward to read more from this awesome youtuber.
