Book challenge, week 1

It’s a new year with some awesome things ahead. Hope you all had a pleasant entry into 2013!

As I said in the previous post I am challenging myself to read 52 books in 52 weeks. The first step in this journey was John Grisham’s book The Client . It’s a story about two innocent kids who just wanted to sneak out into the woods to smoke but become the only witnesses of a suicide. The man who killed himself was a lawyer who represented a lot of criminals and knew many things he really didn’t want to know. One of his secretes become Mark’s secret too (the older of the two boys). Short after the suicide the police started following Mark because they thought he knows something. After some time they became convinced he knows a lot but won’t tell anything. This kicks of a series of actions in Memphis and New Orleans both by the police and mafia.

The book doesn’t take long to pick up speed and it’s a nice read for everyone who like this one against the big boys topic. I have read a lot of Grisham’s books (8 of the 27 so far) and this one is really high in my all time favorite books list. There isn’t much lawyer talking like, for example, in The Firm or The Rainmaker but it has the action which will keep you turning pages for a long time.

I don’t think there are many more books which would have been as good as an intro into the challenge besides this one.

This book gets a 10/10 from me!

Next week (or maybe even today) I’ll start to read The Hobbit. Watched the movie 3 days ago so I’m eager to try this one next.

Until next week, don’t forget to be awesome
