Book challenge, book 46 and 47

Another two books put back on the shelf!

The first one is Dennis Lehane’s Sacred.

Trevor Stone, a dying billionaire hires Patrick Kenzie and Angie Gennaro to find his missing daughter after Jay Backer, Trevor’s mentor, disappeared while searching for her. This was also the reason why they took the job in the first place. They weren’t really interested in the money but more in finding what happened to their friend.

As they dive into the case they learn that the missing daughter isn’t a little-miss-sunshine as her father described her but has some dark stories in her past.

There are a lot of twist and turns in this book and everyone enjoying crime stories as well as some nice action will find the book a pleasure to read. I give this book a 8/10 and think that a few more Lehane books will come on my shelf

The second book is The Healer by Antti Tuomainen.

Finlad, just like the rest of the world faces some huge climatic changes. There are floods, diseases and other pleasantries which don’t make the life really hard for everyone. In this mess Tapani Lehtinen, finds out that his wife is missing. Without a clue and no help from the police he starts his own investigation and starts learning a lot from his wife’s past.

This book was really a nice change. Moving away from American stories into some other regions was quite nice. The only trouble I had was the finishing which was a bit flat but all in all I enjoyed the book and the style Antti is setting the plot.

I give this book a 6/10 and am looking forward for more books from this author.

Five more books are left but only three and a half weeks are to spare so I will have to kick it up a notch to meet the goal till the end of the year.
