I like board games which don’t take up too much space on the table. Card games are very good at that.
I was thinking about Dungeon Escape and how much work this will take until it’s somewhat presentable and how I need to come up with something smaller and much simpler. That’s how Dungeon Dash is born!
Sample setup for 3 players
I am reusing the heroes from Dice fighters because they were quite a lot of fun to play with already.
You start of with a hero that has two basic skills available and can through the game buy yourself 3 additional skills. Skills area activated by rolling the dice and activating any one skill matching the roll.
Once an enemy has been defeated everyone takes a loot card with the player dealing the final blow getting one additional card. These loot cards can have gold, various items, potions giving you a one time buff, or other stuff that will help you along the way.
Turns are pretty straight forward. You pull the top card from the enemies deck and add up to two more enemies to it if it’s a monster of the pack type. You then pull an event card out and resolve it’s effect after which each player gets one turn of attacking after which the monster(s) attack. Play continues until the monster is defeated or all players are dead. To win, players have to make it to a specific card which will be placed close to the bottom of the events stack.
That’s it! That’s Dungeon rush in a nutshell. It’s a very simple game with a little bit of strategy and co-op elements where you want to plow through enemies and have some fun.
I will go into more details on this one once I have it sorted out in my head and put on paper :)
Until then,
