Since week 27 was a little chaotic, why not make week 28 a little different.
Last week I was focusing mostly on riding my bike and covering as much distance as possible. This resulted in 4 bike trainings and (only) 1 swim and 1 run training.
I just wanted to test out if my legs could handle a lot of work back to back just to make sure I was progressing as I expected. Everything is looking good.
I still have to get the pacing right but all in all I am happy about it. If I add in the factor that I donated blood (for the 29th time) and did 2 rides a little "weakened" (uphill rides were quite hard) I am quite pleased with how everything turned out in the end.
I have signed up for my first (sprint) triathlon which will be held on the 25th of April in Slovenia and I am quite excited about it. It has some steep climbs where I'll be able to test myself again and see how well I perform on this kind of terrain which will be also the same kind of terrain in France on my Ironman (just a little harder and longer :) ).
I had also a quite good swim where I managed to swim a lot of 50 meter loops in 50 seconds or less. This is a really big confidence boost perfectly timed for the race in 2 weeks.
My (only) run this week was also quite decent since I cared more about intensity then distance this time. I was running stairs up and down and also included some 10-15 second dashes up an incline and I have to admit that I was dead at the end of the run but it felt really good :). I will definitely include them in my training routines.
Let's have a look at the numbers and then enjoy the rest of the week.
Distance | Time | Pace | |
---|---|---|---|
Swim | 2.9 km | 1:05:00 h | 22:24 min / km |
Bike | 241.47 km | 9:43:26 h | 2:24 min / km |
Run | 10.21 km | 0:58:34 h | 5:44 min / km |
Now that's some nice bike time :)
Distance | Time | |
---|---|---|
Swim | 112.80 km | 44:10:00 h |
Bike | 1988.49 km | 88:03:48 h |
Run | 501.25 km | 41:31:18 h |
Almost 2000 km on the bike and I ran for more then 500 km. Nice!
Until next week, stay awesome :)
