I bit a little more than I can chew this week :D
Week 7
I have taken a 5 week break from work and am really enjoying it. We also took a 4 day (which turned into a 5 day trip in the end because we had a great time) which went from Friday to Monday (Tuesday) so I did what every stupid person without much thought would do - stuff a 6 day workout schedule into 4 days.
I had my speed sessions on Monday, swam on Tuesday and Wednesday while the long run and bike were on Wednesday and Thursday.
I felt great for those 4 days but on Friday on the day of the trip I felt my decision bite me in the ass :D
I was tired like I did a back to back marathon with a 50 kilo backpack on my back. I took me the whole Friday and a good night sleep (as good as it can be with 11 month old twins) to get back to a normal self.
All in all it was fun but something I will definitely try to avoid. No matter how strong you feel you need rest to be at your best performance.
With that in mind I am fired up (after 5 days of doing nothing) for week 8 which will have me do the fitness test (swim, bike, and run) again to see how I improved. I am pretty sure I will improve by quite a bit but we will talk about it next week.
I didn’t put any weight on during the small break (yay!!!) and I have entered 76 kilos for god knows how long. I am also now deep in the 16% body fat range which only means I didn’t do too much damage with my training schedule this week :D
