Another week and another book! This week we have J. R. R. Tolkin’s masterpiece Lord of the Rings.
It’s The Fellowship of the Ring to be exact. After reading The Hobbit I was eager to continue my journey through Middle – Earth and despite it being a slow starter it was a really good book. In a nutshell the story is about the rise of evel who wants to get their hands on the strongest of rings, The One Ring, which will help them to rule the world. It turned out that a small Hobbit named Frodo Baggins inherited the ring and is now in charge of finding a solution for what to do with it. A mixed group was put toghether which will help him in his journey that will shape the fate of the world.
How everything ends is again up to you to find out but I will say that it took me a lot of self control to go through the first hundred and something pages because nothing really hapens except for a lot of talking but then it picked up a lot of pace.
This book reminds me a lot of The Hobbit because a lot of situations are again solved by luck but it doesn’t really make it bad. Tolkin goes into detail while describing the scense (color, texture etc.) so that you can really dive into the world and forget about everything.
I give this book a 8/10 just because of it’s slow start. Otherwise it’s a good book and I will for sure read the remaining two parts in the coming weeks (after I get back the books from my friends )
Until next week, don’t forget to be awesome
