Wow! One year passed so fast that it’s just crazy!!!
Two more books need to be reviewed and then I am done
The first one is James Patterson’s 3rd Degree.
I haven’t read the first two parts of this book but this one was really good. Everything starts with an explosion in a family house and Lindsay Boxer, a lieutenant for the Homicide department, being really close to the spot by accident. She rushes in and tries to help everyone inside. She suspected that someone planted a bomb and got the confirmation quickly as she found a strange looking bag with the word “BANG” written on a paper in it.
Everything turned for the worse as they found out that this is just one instance of a bigger plan. Some terrorists are trying to sabotage the G-8 summit in San Francisco and kill as many leaders as possible.
A wild cat and mouse game starts culminating in an action packed race to save a lot of innocent people.
I really enjoyed the book and think I will start reading the first two books from this series as well. I give this book a solid 8/10.
The last book in this challenge is Tom Clancy’s The Teeth of the Tiger.
After a Mossad chief is assassinated, an “informal” intelligence agency of the CIA and NSA starts their own investigations. Jack Ryan, son of former president Jack Ryan Sr., starts working as an analyst for the agency. Two other man, Brian Caruso, a nephew of the former president and U.S. Marine, and his brother Dominic Caruso, an FBI agent, are hired by the agency because of their abilities.
Their purpose is to carry out assassinations against terrorists. Brian had doubts about the morality of being an assassin but this all changed when they happened to be in a mall attacked by terrorists.
They were given a weapon utilizing succinylcholine, a poison that causes paralysis within 50 seconds and death within 3 minutes. As they started carrying out the assassinations everything goes well in the first three but the fourth one gets a little mixed up and now the fun part begins.
I loved reading the book and am really looking forward to read a lot more of Tom’s books in the future. This book gets a 9/10 from me and I am glad this challenge is over. But more on this topic in another post.
Until then, keep smiling :)
